GINNY GIBSON, MFTC

Compassionate child and family therapist at Family Solutions Counseling in Golden CO

I’m Ginny – a relational therapist who works with individuals, children, teens, parents, caregivers, couples and families. My approach to therapy goes beyond managing symptoms or quick solutions. Instead, my work focuses on understanding and healing the root causes of struggle so meaningful, lasting change can take place. I believe healing happens within safe, trusting relationships, and I strive to create a therapeutic space where you feel safe, understood, and able to grow. Both within your relationship with yourself and with others.

I have extensive experience supporting children of all ages, parents, couples and adults as they work to heal attachment wounds, strengthen boundaries in relationships, improve communication, and build self-esteem. I have specialized training in Corrective Attachment Therapy (CAT) and Corrective Attachment Parenting (CAP). I also integrate experiential, play-based interventions to support deeper emotional processing for both children and adults.

In addition to my work with families and children, I support women and couples through family planning, pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenting years. These transitions can bring both joy and challenges, and I help families stay connected to themselves and each other as roles, identities, and attachments shift.

My goal is to provide a space where families can slow down, feel understood, and move toward meaningful, sustainable change together.

How Can I Support You?

  • Trauma & Attachment Healing: With specialized training in Corrective Attachment Therapy (CAT), I work with adults and children coping with attachment disruption, early relational trauma, adoptive or foster-care challenges, or generational patterns. My approach aims to help gain an understanding of underlying relational or nervous-system patterns, and build trust, regulation, and connection.

  • Children & Adolescents: I work with children and teens experiencing anxiety, self-esteem challenges, behavioral difficulties, attachment wounds, and trauma. I strive to help young people feel seen, safe, and emotionally regulated. I involve caregivers throughout the whole process so therapy does not happen in isolation and we can all be on the same page.

  • Parents & Caregivers: I provide couples therapy, family therapy, and Corrective Attachment Parenting (CAP) support. Together, we build tools for communication, co-regulation, attunement, boundaries, and compassionate responses that create emotional safety and secure attachment at home.

  • Families & Couples (Perinatal & Beyond): I support couples and families during major transitions like family-planning, pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenting, as well as general family dynamics, communication issues, and long-standing relational patterns. I help partners strengthen connection, navigate role shifts, and experience parenting as a shared emotional process rather than a solo effort.

I approach therapy with warmth, humility, and relational curiosity. I believe healing happens through connection, not isolation. If you’re seeking support for yourself, your child, or your family, I would be honored to help.
